Shakespeare's Globe Theatre, also called the Globe Theatre or simply The Globe, is a reconstruction of a theatre that Shakespeare's theatre company built in the 16th century. It's a historic venue that offers the unforgettable experience of watching open-air theatre performances.
This faithful replica of the original Victorian theatre was built in 1996 and has since attracted many visitors and Shakespeare enthusiasts from around the world. Nowadays, it routinely showcases both contemporary productions of Shakespeare's plays and original performances by contemporary playwrights.
Shakespeare’s Globe Exhibition is open all year round, 9.00am – 5.00pm. Our Globe Theatre tours depart every 30 minutes. As we are a working theatre, tours may not be available due to performances, rehearsals or events, and tours may be affected by technical work in the theatre.
