From the outside, this place looks like a vintage diner, and the inside feels like the dining car of a train that was built to lure 20-somethings away from air travel. Empire Diner has been through a few different owners in the past couple of years. But since Jestin Feggan (formerly of Cafeteria) is in charge of the kitchen, it has stepped up its game and is serving diner classics along with up-to-the-minute fare like melon gazpacho with lump crabmeat and and cacio e pepe risotto.
P.S. Be sure to check out the mural on top of it from Eduardo Kobra called "Mount Rushmore of Art" as well when you're there.
